Killermont Facilities
Killermont was the home of the Campbell-Colquhoun family until
1904 when it was taken over by Glasgow Golf Club. Since then the
country mansion house built in 1805 has been converted into a clubhouse
and continually updated.
The main room in the clubhouse is a bar known as the "Smoke
Room" although to meet the requirements of new legislation
smoking will be prohibited in all rooms of the clubhouse as from
March 2006. In addition there is a well-appointed Lounge. In both
of these rooms gentlemen are required to wear a jacket, collar and
tie.
There is a separate Casual Bar in which golf attire may be worn.
The dining room is renowned for its high standard of catering.
Bar snacks are available in the Smoke Room and Casual Bar.
The Tennant Room named after Sir Charles Tennant a former Captain
of the Club, who donated the Tennant Cup - an Open Amateur Competition
played each year attracting some of the world’s best amateur
golfers, some coming from as far as Australia. This room is suitable
for meetings and small private parties.
The Gun Room is available for small meetings. During the Second
World War a platoon of the Home Guard was stationed at the Club
and it was in this room that they kept their rifles, hence the name
Gun Room.
